    All you do is work backward to get the true value of y

    y=2x-1

    0=2x-1

    then solve this should get you the answer x=1

    so the two xvalues are - 6 and 1

    Multiply 2 by - 6.

    y=2x-1

    y=2 (-6) - 1

    y = - 12-1

    y = - 13
