    The area of an equilateral triangle is always:

    A=√ ((3s^4) / 16) or if you prefer: A = (s^2/4) √3

    So if A=9√3 we have:

    9√3 = (s^2/4) √3

    9=s^2/4

    s^2=36

    s=6 feet
