On Thursday, the ABC Company stock lost 60% of its value. On Friday it lost another 10% of its remaining value. If the total loss for the two days would have been the same if the stock had lost x% of its value the first day and then X% of its remaining value the second day, then "x" = ?

    It lost 60% of its value so the remaining percentage is 40%. Then it looses another 10% of the remaining value which is 4% and so the final remaining value is 40-4=36%. So 36% is the final value.
