Members at a tennis club can pay a membership fee $52 and play each time for $2. Nonmembers can play each time for $6. How many times do they have to play before the member and nonmember have spent the same amount of money?

    52 + 2x = 6x

    52 = 6x - 2x

    52 = 4x

    52/4 = x

    13 = x

    they would have to play 13 times to have spent the same amount of money (which would be $ 78)
