    This is a geometric sequence ... so we first find the common ratio by dividing the 2nd term by the 1st term. 12/3 = 4 ... so the common ratio is 4.

    an = a1 * r^ (n-1)

    n = term to find = 7

    a1 = first term = 3

    r = common ratio = 4

    now we sub

    a7 = 3 * 4^ (7-1)

    a7 = 3 * 4^6

    a7 = 3 * 4096

    a7 = 12288 <===
