It's the fifth day.

1/12 + 2/12 = 3/12.

3/12 + 3/12 = 6/12.

6/12 + 4/12 = 10/12 and

10/12 + 5/12 = 15/12 which is one 1 3/12 or 1 1/4 mile.

So on the 5th day, Steven walks at least one complete mile
