A large drink casts 50 cents more than a small drink. Write an expression for the total costs of small drinks and 3 large drinks.

    Large drink=l

    small drink=s

    s=l-50

    so 1 small drink = l-50

    and 3 large drinks=3l

    so the total = l-50+3l

    simplified=-50+4l or 4l-50
