A submarine starts at an elevation of - 35 meters compared to sea level. It then makes 3 equal descents of 145 meters each is the final depth of the submarine greater than 500 meters? Explain how you solved this problem

    Start at - 35

    three descents of 145m adds to a total descent of 435m

    -35-435=-470. the final depth is not greater than 500m
