For the equation - 4y=8x, what is the constant variation

    I think the constant variation is - 2 (8:-4)

    -4y=8x

    first get the y alone so ... get rid of it by dividing - 4 on both sides

    -4y=8x

    -4 - 4 - 4/-4=1 so thats eliminated to get the y alone. 8/-4=2

    y=-2x-4 and - 4 stays

    the constant variation is the one with mx ... in y=mx+b ... so ... 2 is the Constant variation (constant variation means the same as slope)
