    6 and 3/8

    7 and 2/5

    combine

you can just add the whole numbers

    6+7=13

    then add the confusing ones

    3/8 + 2/5

convert the bottom number to the same number

    the number is 40

    multiply 3/8 by 5/5=15/40

    multiply 2/5 by 8/8=16/40

    add

    15/40+16/40=31/40

the naswer is 13 and 31/40
