    0.25 (3x-4) - 0.5=2.75

    0.25 (3x-4) = 3.25 add 0.5 to both sides

3x-4=13 divide by 0.25 both sides

3x=17 add 4 to both sides

x=17/3 divide both sides by 3

    17/3 = 5.666666 ... if you need a non-fraction format
