Tim wrote 16 as (-2) ^4. is he correct?

    (-2) ^4 means - 2 times itself 4 times so

    -2 times - 2 times - 2 times - 2 = (-2 times - 2) times (-2 times - 2) remember that negative time negative=positive so

    (4) times (4) = 16
