If a classmate is trying to estimate 42% of $122. Explain how your classmate should solve the problem. In a 6th graders work

    Well I say 42/100 * 122. Then when you reduce it you get 42/25 * 31. You will get an answer of 1301/25. But it is not over yet; when you divide 1301 with 25 and get the answer of 52.04. Now you must round it if to then nearest tenth place. That will be 52.0. Now you can round it to the nearest whole number or you can do that when you get your decimal answer in the first place. Anyway, when you round it to the nearest whole number you get 52 as your answer.

    Multiply 42% time 122 and your answer is 51.24
