    First, convert the time it took to run 26 miles into minutes.

    3 hours, 28 minutes. 3 hours * 60minutes/1 hour=180 minutes + 28 minutes = 208 minutes.

    Second, create a ratio.

    26 miles: 208 minutes.

    Third, set up an equation to find how many minutes it took to run 1 mile.

    26 miles/208 minutes = 1 mile/x

    Fourth, solve for x by cross multiplying.

    26x=208

    Fifth, divide both sides by 26.

    x=8

    In conclusion, it too Geri 8 minutes to run 1 mile.
