    We have : 1gallon = > 24 mile

    So : y gallon = > 3x mile

    so y = 3x/24 = x/8

    so it uses x/8 gallon of gaz

    If it travels 3 miles, the van needs 1 / 8 gallon of gas;

    If it travels 32 miles, the van needs 32 / 24 = 4 / 3gallon of gas;

    If it travels 36 miles, the van needs 36 / 24 = 3 / 2 gallon of gas;
