The area of a square is given by and the perimeter is given by, where s is the side length of the square. If the side length of a square is 4 inches, its area is square inches and its perimeter is inches.

    A=s^2 where s=side length, in this case:

    A=4^2=16 in^2

    The perimeter of a square is always:

    P=4s, in this case:

    P=4*4=16 in
