    The surface area of a cube is:

    A=6s^2 so we can say:

    s=√ (A/6) = (A/6) ^ (1/2)

    The volume of a cube is:

    V=s^3, using s found above we have:

    V = (A/6) ^ (1/2) ^3

    V = (A/6) ^ (3/2), and A=486 so

    V = (486/6) ^ (3/2)

    V=81^ (3/2)

    V=729 m^3

    486/6=81

    Square root 81 = one side length = 9m

    volume = 9^3 = 729
