How do you substitute?

    Y=x+5

    Let's say we are given that x is equal to 5.

    Thus, since x=5, we can replace x with the number 5.

    So instead of y=x+5, we now have:

    y=5+5=

    Another example:

    x=4+y

    where y = 2

    x=4+2
