If each square in the grid is 1 inch, each square has an area of 1cm^2

so the number of squares required is 40/1 = 40 squares.

40 squares. Because if each is 1-inch, we have to know how many 1-inch sqaures fit into 40. That's 40!

    Equation: 1 multiplied by 40 = 40
