Adult tickets for a concert cost $16.00, and student tickets cost $12.00. If twice as many student tickets as adult tickets were sold, and the total revenue from ticket sales was $26,800, find the number of adult and student tickets sold.

    The answer is 670 adult tickets and 1340 student tickets.

    16a+12b=26,800

    2a=b

    Then you substitute 2a for b and get 16a+24a=26,800 which is equal to a=670.

    Then, double that and it is 1340
