    Direct variation is y=kx

    indirect variation is y=k/x

    if we can get it into that form, then it is

    5x+6x=1

    6y=-5x+1

    y = (-5/6) x+1/6

    yes

    -4x+9y=4

    9y=4x+4

    y = (4/9) x+4/8

    yes
