The slope of the line is 1/2.

Add '4y' to both sides of the equation, then subtract '10' both sides.

    then you get 4y = 2x - 10

    divide the equation by 4

    you get: y = 1/2 x - 2.5

the equation for a straight line is y = mx + c where m is the slope
