Mara has a shipping crate in the shape of a rectangular prism with inside dimensions of 2 feet by 3 feet by 4 feet. Mara will pack cube shaped boxes inside the shipping crate. The cube shape boxes have a length of 4 inches. What is the volume of the shipping crate? How many cube shaped boxes will fit into the shipping crate to completely fill the box without gaps or overlaps?

    1. Multiply the length, width, and height to get the volume of the box, which is 24 ft³. 2. Each cube has a volume of 4, right? So divide 24 by 4 to get 6. 6 boxes can fit into the crate.
