    Profit=selling rice-cost price

    P (x) = 2x - (0.25x+0.5)

    P (x) = 1.75x-0.5

    The profit it's the money that you make minus the money that you sell. So

    P (x) = s (x) - c (x)

    P (x) = (2x) - (0.25x + 0.5)

    P (x) = 2x - 0.25x - 0.5

    P (x) = 1.75x - 0.5
