    Ratio of beef to pork = 3 : 1

    Beef:Pork = 3 : 1

    Total ratio = 3 + 1 = 4

Amount of pork: Fraction of Pork = 1/4 of the whole meat

    (1/4) * 5 = 5/4 = 1.25

Amount of Pork = 1.25 pounds.

    Hope this explains it.
