    First we set up our equations:

    Width = w

    Length = 2w+8

    Perimeter = 2w+2 (Length) = 2w+2 (2w+8) = 2w+4w+16 = 6w+16

    We know the perimeter is 124, so our equation is 124=6w+16

    108=6w

    18=w

    So we know the width is 18 feet.

    The length is (8*2) + 8 = 24 feet.
