Four large oranges are squeezed to make six glasses of juice. How much juice can be made from six oranges?

a) the number of glasses compared to the number of oranges will always be in the ratio 3 to 2.

b) with more oranges the diffrence will be less.

c) the difference in the numbers will always be two.

d) with four oranges the difference was two, with six oranges the difference would be more.

e) there is no way of predicting.

    6/4 = x/6 ... 6 glasses to 4 oranges = x glasses to 6 oranges

    cross multiply

    4x = 36

    x = 36/4

    x = 9

    6/4 and 9/6 both reduce to 3/2 or the ratio 3:2
