    3/4 = 0,75

    14,9 * 0,75 = 11,175 (metal weight)

    14,9 - 11,175 = 3,725 (wood part)

The wood part weights 3,725 kilograms.

We know that 3/4 of the full weight is from metal. That means that the metal weighs 14.9 * (3/4) or 14.9 * (0.75) = 11.175kg. The wood is just this value subtracted from 14.9 thus our final answer is: 14.900 - 11.175 = 3.725.

Note: Even though the question never says to round, the actual answer might be:

    14.9 - 11.2 = 3.7kg since 11.175kg is approximately 11.2kg. Also, 3.725 is approximately 3.7kg.
