Sam bought brushes for $8, a palette for $5, and oil paints for $15. He paid $29.82 in all. What sale-tax rate did Sam pay?

    When you add all the prices for example in this case $8+$5+$15 and then you subtract the answer with the total amount he paid which is $28-$29.82 (or the other way around) and the answer is $1.82.
