A town has accumulated 5in of snow, depth is increasing 5in every hour. A nearby town has accumulated 8in, and the depth is increasing by 2 inches every hour. in about how many hours will the snowfall of the towns be equal

    5 + 5x = 8 + 2x is the equation.

    The answer is in 1 hour they will be the same because 5 + 5 (1) = 8 + 2 (1) or 10 = 10
