340 pounds minus Shawn's weight of 100 pounds gives us 240 pounds left for packages.

Each package weights 5 pounds so we take 240 and divide it by 5.

    240/5 = 48

Shawn can carry a maximum of 48 packages with him.

    n ≤ 48
