Joanna went to the farmers market to buy some apples and oranges. She bought 8 oranges and some apples. The cost per orange was $1.79 and the cost per pound of apples was $1.49. Joanna spent a total of $23.26 on apples and oranges at the farmers market.

    8 oranges + 1.49x=23.26

    8 (1.79) + 1.49x = 23.26

    14.32 + 1.49x=23.26

    Sub 14.32

    1.49x = 8.94

    Divide by 1.49

    X = 6

    She bought 6 lbs of apples
