If a container holds 5 l of fluids then all you do is 500/5 which equals to 100 so the container does NOT hold more than 500ml of fluids

1 liter amounts to 1,000 milliliters, so 5 liters of fluid amount to 5,000 milliliters of fluid. 500 milliliters of fluid would be 0.5 or 1/2 liter. So, a container holding 5 liters of fluid would hold more than 500 milliliters of fluid.
