You work in a materials testing lab and your boss tells you to increase the temperature of a sample by 34.9 âc. the only thermometer you can find at your workbench reads in degrees fahrenheit. if the initial temperature of the sample is 70.4 âf, what is its temperature in degrees fahrenheit when the desired temperature increase has been achieved?

    The solution for this problem would be:

    ([°F] - 32) * 5/9 = [°C]

    [°C] * 9/5 + 32 = [°F]

    (70.4°F-32) * 5/9 = 21.33°C

    21.33°C + 34.9°C = 56.23°C

    (56.23°C) (9/5) + 32 = 133.21 °F is its temperature in degrees Fahrenheit when the wanted temperature rise has been attained.
