    Pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium contains cells that appear to be layered, have projections called cilia and are apical in shape. This ciliated form is the one responsible in housing the goblet cells that secrete mucin which hydrates to become mucus that will trap foreign particles and is moved by beating the cilia.
