Calculate the period of a satellite orbiting the moon, 94 km above the moon's surface. ignore effects of the earth. the radius of the moon is 1740 km.

    First we calculate the effective radius R:

    R = 1740+94 = 1834 km = 1.834E6 m

    Then taking the mass of the moon:

    M = mass of moon = 7.348E22 kg

    We then calculate the period using the formula:

    T = 2π√[R³ / (GM) ] = 7049.3 sec = 1.96 hr
