    The movers are each exerting 60 N of force on the box. Their respective directions of motion are perpendicular to one another. The Pythagorean theorem can be applied to compute the resultant force. (60 N) ^2 + (60 N) ^2 = (Resultant Force) ^2 7200 N^2 = (Resultant Force) ^2 By taking the square root of each side of the above equation we are able to compute the resultant force: Resultant Force = 84.853 N Thus, if each of the movers exerts 60 N on the crate, and the direction of forces are two the north and the to the east, the resultant force will measure 84.853 N.
