    Consumers are organisms of a food chain that get energy by consuming other organisms. Consumers are considered heterotrophs.

    They can be fungi, animals, and some bacteria.

    Yes they are heterotrophs, and consumers are organisms that eat other organisms or plants or bacteria to continue there lives. They don't make there own food, there for they have to "consume" it.
