According to kinetic theory of gases, gases are made up of tiny particles than continuous straight random motion. They move rapidly colliding with each other and the walls of the container, the collisions are perfect elastic collisions and therefore there is no loss of kinetic energy. Therefore, the above statement is false, since there is no loss of total kinetic energy due to collisions of molecules.
