The velocity of a boat with respect to the shore is 2 meters/second. The velocity of the water with respect to the shore is 1 meter/second. What is the distance traveled by boat after 3 minutes if the boat is traveling in the opposite direction of the water? (Hint: Find the velocity of the boat relative to the water and then use the equation distance = speed * time)

    180, since the water counteracts 1/2 of the movement of the boat. 3 minutes is 180 seconds, so, you get 180.
