As regarding the prediction of weather by Meteorologists, the process starts with computer generated weather models, and short-term forecasts are usually accurate. Long-term forecasts on the other hand (prediction of more than 7 days in advance) are usually rough guides; they are not so accurate. It is also true that predicting storms is difficult because the atmosphere is so dynamic, but with current advancement in technology, it is still possible.
