    most species of scallop family are feeling active swimmers repelling themselves through the water through the use of the adductor muscles to open and close their shells. swimming occurs by the Clapping of valves for water intake. closing the valves repels water with strong force me the hinge via vallen the curtain like fold of mantle that directs the water explosion around the hinge. scallops swim in the direction of the valve opening, unless the Vellum directs of abrupt change in Course direction
