    There are several energy conversions that take place during photosynthesis, but if you look at just the input and the output, photosynthetic plants basically take light and create glucose. Light is obviously light energy, and glucose is a energy-rich compound that of course contains chemical energy. So, photosynthesis converts light energy into chemical energy.
