By definition, the period (T) is the time a cycle lasts and the frequency is the number of cycles per second.

The equation Frequency=1/T, indicates that the period (T) is inversely proportional to the frequency. This means that when the frequency decreases, the period increases and when the frequency increases, the period decreases.
