    Let m = the mass of the chain, kg

    The tension of 25 N supports the weight of the chain, therefore

    (m kg) * (9.8 m/s²) = 25 N

    m = 25/9.8 = 2.551 kg

    Answer: The mass is 2.55 kg (2 dec. places)
