When we pull 2 socks out of the dryer and they are "stuck together", this is known as "static cling". Explain why the socks are sticking together in terms of the charge of each sock, and the atomic particles involved in creating the charges.

    The atomic particles involved are electrons. When the clothes rub against each other in the dryer, electrons move from one object to another. Those that lost electrons are positively charged and those that gained are negatively charged. Since the charges are opposite, the charged pieces of clothing cling together.
