Marino was chosen to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005, one of merely four Dolphins to be chosen in their first year of entitlement. He was received into the Hall of Fame on August 7, 2005 and was presented by his eldest son, Daniel. During his speech, Dan tossed "one last pass" to previous teammate Mark Clayton, who was in the audience.
