1. A. Assume that you have hydraulic system with the area of the larger piston being ten times greater than the area of the smaller piston. If input movement is 5 N, what is the output force? Show work

B. With that same hydraulic system, if the input movement is 5 m, what is the output movement? Show work

    Output force =

    (Input force) times (output area/input area) = (5 N) times (10) = 50 N

    Output movement =

    (Input movement) divided by (output area/input area) = (5m) / 10 = 0.5 m
