Stars evolved and so do galaxies. Many of these objects show signature of violent high-mass star formation, a phenomenon often called "starburst". Starburst galaxies are galaxies that are observed to be forming stars at unusually fast rate, about 10³ times greater than in a normal galaxy, but it would last only to about 10⁸ years, meaning it must have started relatively recently.
