A bat hits a 0.150 kg baseball for 0.0880s. The balls velocity changes from 41.0 m/s left to 37.0 m/s right. How much force was applied to the ball? Unit = N

    From Newton's second law of motion,

    F=ma

    Where, F = applied force, m = mass (=0.15 kg), a = acceleration.

    a = Δv/t, Δv = Change in velocity, t = time

    Therefore

    a = (41-37) / 0.088 = 45.45 m/s^2

    Then,

    F = 0.15*45.45 = 6.82 N
